Leapmotor B05: electric hatchback with 482 km range
Leapmotor is bringing the B05 into the Golf class as a compact five-door electric hatchback. Reported figures include 160 kW, a 67.1-kWh battery and a Swiss starting price of 25,900 francs.

Compact five-door model for the Golf class
Leapmotor is expanding its line-up with the B05, a classic five-door electric hatchback in the compact segment. The model is 4.43 metres long, 1.88 metres wide and 1.52 metres high. The 2.74-metre wheelbase is intended to provide generous space, especially in the rear. In Switzerland, a starting price of 25,900 francs is reported.
Powertrain, battery and charging
The B05 uses an electric motor on the rear axle with 160 kW/218 hp and 240 Nm of torque. With the 67.1-kWh battery, a range of up to 482 kilometres is said to be possible at a standard consumption of 15.9 kWh per 100 kilometres. The drag coefficient is 0.26. For the sprint from 0 to 100 km/h, 6.7 seconds are stated in launch mode, while top speed is 170 km/h.
- Fast charging: up to 174 kW
- Charging time: just over 17 minutes from 30 to 80 percent
- AC charging: 11 kW at a wallbox
- Kerb weight: 1,837 kilograms
- Boot capacity: 345 litres, up to 1,400 litres with the seats folded
Interior and tuning
Inside, Leapmotor uses a reduced cockpit with a central 14.6-inch touchscreen and an 8.8-inch display behind the steering wheel. Conventional buttons or rotary switches are not mentioned. A large glass panoramic roof brings plenty of light into the cabin. For the market launch, Lightning Yellow is highlighted as a striking colour; Windy Grey, Starry Night Blue, Galaxy Silver and Metallic Black are also planned.
The chassis was tuned for Europe by Stellantis engineers at the Balocco test track. A 50:50 weight distribution, firmly tuned MacPherson struts and 19-inch wheels are mentioned. In the described drive, the B05 is presented as agile with good traction, although the steering is criticised as less direct.
