Citroën is showing an electric reinterpretation of the 2CV at the 2026 Paris Motor Show. The study takes visual cues from the historic model without directly copying it. The adopted identifying features include a high roofline, an upright body, rounded surfaces and a fabric roof extending far towards the rear. Pronounced wheel arches and a contrasting tailgate also create a connection to the original; the 2CV was also available with two-tone paint during its development.
Compared with the Ente built between 1948 and 1990 in more than 3.8 million units, the study appears wider, has larger wheels and shorter overhangs. The front differs with more integrated, more angular headlights, a closed surface without a radiator grille and a new logo. At the rear, a wider boot lid and longitudinal LED light strips set different accents from the narrow 2CV rear. Inside, a display behind the steering wheel and a central touchscreen replace the analogue layout; links to the 2CV are created by a removable centre console and a separate radio module.
